Monae Watson MC, RMHCI
I first discovered my passion for Psychology in high school after helping a friend face some mental health challenges. I realized that many people are ashamed of confronting mental health issues because they somehow fear they are abnormal or will be judged. After graduating with my B.A. from the University of Central Florida, I knew that gaining my master’s in counseling would be my next step. After 8 years of working full-time, I felt the tug on my heart to finally pursue graduate school.
As a counselor, my goal is to get to know every client at their core and create a counseling environment where any struggle, issue, or need can be shared without judgment. I will utilize listening, care, encouragement, and empathy to walk alongside of you until you feel you are able to walk on your own. Mental health, marriage and family, grief, and LGBTQ+ support are just some of the areas I can assist you in. I will also utilize cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and person-centered techniques to help you create healthier ways of thinking and set goals that will help to further your personal development. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to support you in your journey.
